ANOTHER GOOD CAUSE AT EXIT 98
In the summer, there is nothing better than curling up with a good book at the beach. (And staying at an historic inn while you are there.) The Spring Lake and Sea Girt public libraries, along with the Historic Inns of Spring Lake, are teaming up for the literary event of the summer with "Authors & Inns -- A Spring Lake Event,"
WHEN: Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
WHO: Ten historic inns will open their doors, sharing their properties for a glimpse into the historic and romantic style of Spring Lake. At the same time, prominent authors whose books are either about Spring Lake or relate in some way to the town, will be at each inn, meeting fans and selling and signing their most recently published books. Authors include Mary Higgins Clark, who will be signing copies of "I Heard That Song Before," and Patrick Smith, who will be signing "Spring Lake, Revisited." Other participating authors are: Carol Higgins Clark, Dick LaBonte, Gordon Hesse, Frank Finale, Bianca Covelli Stewart, Jim Turner, Patricia Colrick, Lynn Kaplan/Angie Williams, Kathy Kochan, Bill Sexton, Dr. Christine Aria and LaVerne Kay.
COST: The tours cost $12, with proceeds going to the Spring Lake and Sea Girt Public Libraries.
TICKETS: For tickets, call (732) 859-1465. They are also available at the participating inns, the Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce and Sea Girt Public Library. They will be available at the Spring Lake Public Library Sunday.
Each ticket will include a self-guided map of authors and inns for visitors' convenience. Special rates will be available at participate inns for visitors wishing to come for the weekend. Participating inns include the White Lilac, the Spring Lake Inn, the Villa Park Inn, Sea Crest by the Sea, Beacon House, Evergreen Inn, Victoria House, Ocean House, Sandpiper Inn and Chateau Inn & Suites.
Happy courting and I hope your ship comes in...
Eileen
